The software I have in mind would *simultaneously* search several internet directories.
These directories are free, but some may require a one-time user registration, so the software should accomodate that requirement in the initial set-up process.
The program would have a pre-loaded set of internet directories and also offer the flexibility to add more later ... either in a product upgrade / revision or anytime by the owner if he / she finds a directory that they want to add.
I have not decided if I want to:
a.) sell this software as a stand alone product or
b.) use it as a feature / function on my web site as a traffic generator
I have a idea about developing a variation of both a) & b) above ... but want to discuss costs, etc.
An example of the type of *look / function* I have in mind for a 'web based' application can be found at:
[url removed, login to view]
The above is basically a menu driven site search application, but it will give you an idea of what I have in mind for a broader mutiple search directory.
Will share more details if you are interested and you will sign a NDA which I will fax or email to you.
p.s. I do not want to build my own directory. I want to provide website functionality and/or stand alone software that can be uploaded to server that enables this functionality.
Many of the directories I want to search appear to use the Google *site-search* utility ... so using the Google API may be possible / practical to keep development costs down.
Plese let me know if you have any questions.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
I am open to this ........
Of course it should run using WIN XP, but the software could be build using JAVA, etc.
Will rely on your expertise here.
