This project is part of a Next-Gen Virtual Environment Generator being constructed by OrbTech VR which is able to interface with a FPS PC game and convert it's data to a natural interface for the end user.
The coding project will use eMagin's 3D tracking technology from their z800 headset. The project will use eMagin's free SDK to implement their 3D tracking technology into a PC game.
The coder for this project will make use of eMagin's free SDK and code it into a FPS PC game called Half-Life 2. Half-Life 2 ships with source code and a MOD SDK.
The idea is to use the 3D tracking technology to control the PC game's pitch and yaw control instead of a mouse (eMagin provides doccumentation and code examples.)
In addition the coder will make use of the SDK to add zero-convergence steroviewing to the PC game (eMagin provides doccumentation and code examples.)
eMagin has a well documented SDK and support community, to download the SDK go to <[login to view URL]> and click on "Z800 3DVisor SDK 2.0", eMagin will send you a link to download the SDK and documentation.
The coder must create a GUI/Command Prompt that is able to be called up during game play by a keypress(e.g. F7) at any time in order to change the following settings:
-Must be able to adjust the stereoviewing separation via a GUI/Command Prompt
-Must be able to turn the stereoviewing ON/OFF via a GUI/Command Prompt
-Must be able to toggle game crosshairs ON\OFF via a GUI/Command Prompt
-Add a semi-translucent laser beam sight for aiming during stereoviewing, must be able to toggle ON\OFF via a GUI\Command Prompt
