Web Based Outlook Office User Interface Framework For ASP.NET 2.0 Application

**Project:** Web based outlook 2003 look and feel user type and menu interface framework look our web based applications used in conjunction with ASP.NET 2.0 Membership and SQL Server 2005. We are looking for a web based user interface similar to the one use in Outlook Web Access 2003 or Microsoft outlook 2003. For this first project, we need the left menu navigation component to integrate and work with ASP.NET 2.0 Membership Roles and Authorization. This first project is critical as, a good user interface framework with customized component other web based applications. ## Deliverables **Requirements -** You must have experience with SQL Server 2005, ASP.NET 2.0 Membership, Themes, Web Development and C# 1) Needs to use ASP.NET Membership 2.0 Roles to determine which Menu Items can be viewed based on a users role. For example, only administrators should be able to see Reports and Tickets whereas everyone else can see only My Tickets, Home and Knowledgebase. 2) Those should be no limit to the number of roles we can add as well as which menus will be restriced. We should also be able to drop controls such as a radio button or treeview or any other control as the Menu item giving us flexibility, so you should use collections. 3) We should be able to define which roles can access which menu as well as the menu subitems. This means we should have granular security and each item should be displayed only if that role permits the display of the menu item. 4) There should also be no limit to the number of sub nodes that we need. We need a Framework layout for the Menubar that supports postbacks as well as state management and should use AJAX Technologies. A good Sample would be Outlook 2003 Web Access and Outlook. These menu items should be stored in an XML File. The menu generation will be dynamic but will be based on this XML File. 5) Since the roles of the users are stored in the SQL Server Database, Ideally the mapping of the roles to the menu items and menu permissions should be in the database. However, for performance reasons, the roles should be loaded into web cache or memory so that the roles are in memory and there needs to be no round trip to the database for role checking, unless new roles are added or menu access to certain items has changed. 6) We will need an Administration page that allows us to Manage Access to the Roles and Menu Item Mappings. Please see the Picture of the Administration Image in the Zip File for more details. Since you are going to be designing the Role and Menu display piece, we want to see you show us a sample of what you feel would make sense given the parameters we have given you. Again, the more it looks like Office 2003 or Outlook 2003, the better. 7) The more the interface looks and feels like Microsoft Office 2003 or Outlook 2003 the better! 8) CLEAN and Well documented code! Other developers will be using this component and our team must be able to review this. For example, if we do a search, and the page posts back, the menu bar needs to be able to maintain state. **DELIVERABLES**** ** 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
