About Us: We are a tech start-up in the e-commerce sector looking to hire a programmer/web developer. You will be working in conjunction with a team of 2-4 other programmers, and will work on specific and general aspects of the program design as needed. Solid, professional experience in PHP (with MVC frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Symfony2) or Ruby (Rails) and relational database (ideally MySQL and/or PostgreSQL), developing highly-scalable Web applications ? An excellent understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns ? Linux-based development and administration knowledge ? Excellent analytical and problem solving skills ? Experience writing and optimizing algorithms ? 2+ years of analytics, data mining, predictive/mathematical modeling experience ? Proficiency with common languages used in statistical analysis such as R and Python ? Proficiency in OO programming such as C, C++ Desired, but NOT Required: ? A complementary set of front-end skills (JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, etc.) ? Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis ? Experience with data visualization and GPU computation ? Enthusiasm for Agile processes (Scrum/Kanban/TDD/XP/etc.) ? Familiarity with version control systems (such as SVN or Git) ? Dedication to unit testing, code review and other quality-oriented practices ? Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
