Here's a simple one to be done in VB6
I've got a recordset (RsICDs) that contains data. The recordset contains thousands of items. It was pulled with:
iSQL = "SELECT ID, Code, Description, PersonalCode, Common, IsComplete " & "FROM ICD9Codes ORDER BY Code"
Now, here is what I need help with.
I want to take this recordset (all the data is now in RsICDs) and have it put into a DataGrid (or a ComponentOne TDBgrid).
The Code field is always present.
The Description, PersonalCode, Common, and IsComplete fields may or may not have data. In other words, they will either have a string, "", or null.
Finally, and most importantly. The field IsComplete will contain either a "C" or an "I" (or ""). If it is a "C", I want the corresponding row to have a green background. If it is a "I" I want a yellow background. If it is anything else, I want just the default white background.
So, in summary, I only want the lines of code to populate a grid from a recordset, and set the background color of a specified row based on one of the field values from within that row.
I don't need a complilable program, or anything else. Just the rough code that I can understand and adapt to my own needs later.
