I have an Intranet site that holds contacts, tasks, and Calendar items (among other things) for subscribers with a SQL back end. I need an easily self branded utility that will allow my users to synch their Outlook with my website in a secure manner with a minimal amount of fuss. This interaction should be two-way, accounting for changes on either side and stable with Outlook 2000 - 2003 and Outlook Express.
The main thing that I am concerned about is getting a client that I can prepackage send to a user based on Outlook or Outlook express that has to pass a username and password check (credentials provided by the user should allow for cached or saved credentials - my usernames are based on the person email address) as well as an embedded and hidden password to login to my system.
I'm not sure how you pull off the connectivity between an Internet user and the SQL database, but security will be of great concern.
The user should be able to choose which contacts folder, calendar, and task list (if multiples exist)they want to synch from outlook to the web. They should also be able to update my system on the web and synch back down to their Outlook or OE client. I am very flexible in reguards to my databse structure as I have no live users and changes on my end to facilitate a better system are easy.
The system should also all me to repackage and send to users to account for field additions or deletions on either side in the future. For example: say that I currently do not track the field home phone and later I choose to do so. I do not want to have to have the system recoded.
Having an automated system that runs on a regular basis or each time the computer starts is even better!
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
It should work on any Microsoft OS, MAC would be a big plus! Currently my site is IE only so netscape compatability is not required, but is desirable.
As mentioned previously it should work with Outlook 2000 - 2003 and Outlook Express.
The website in question is currently built with Cold Fusion, however I don't think this has any negative implications due to the nature of the prduct that is desired.
