Three programs should be delivered, and an installer. - A windows service to monitor some critical system variables like CPUload, IOload, diskspace, maybe also temperature and fan speed. Apart from that it uses regular expressions to scan new entries in the Event Logs according to two criteria: known entries that should be ignored, and known error entries. Results are written every minute in a simple XML formatted file into a maildir-type queue (see [login to view URL]) - A Windows service that reads the queue every 5 seconds and for each file connects to a remote machine:port authenticates (using a POP3 like mechanism), uploads the file, and deletes it. A test server is available. - An GUI to configure both programs. This program should build either under the recently released free Microsoft C/C++ compiler or under cygwin. There is a small C library available with some C-utility functions (currently linux based) for writing an XML structure to a file in a maildir (depends on libxml2), read regular expressions to use into a memory structure (uses glib2), create the basics of an XML file in our format (uses libxml2). More detailed specs are attached to this bid request in a zip file.
