Hi, I have worked on a system before where the payment information gets handled on a server different from the website where the order is submitted. I can think of a couple of different ways to accomplish this, but it depends on your setup. Based on the answers to the following questions, I will be able to better assess the options and determine whether my bid still makes sense before accepting the job: 1. Are both sites hosted on the same server? 2. If not, do both sites use SSL? 3. Which web server is used? (e.g. Apache,IIS,etc) 4. Does your hosting use a control panel software? (e.g. cPanel/WHM, Plesk, Webmin, etc) 5. How will I be able to access the servers? (e.g. cPanel, FTP, SFTP, SSH) 6. Are both sites live already? 7. Does the order form on site1 work already (just without the payment processing part)? 8. Do you have a form on site2 already that can process payment using the information that would be entered in site1? 9. If the answer to question 8 is no, do you have any forms on site2 that can process payments already? 10. Will you be able to provide me with the documentation of the payment gateway system, should I get the job? 11. Do you have access to a test account on the payment gateway system? 12. Will you be able to provide me with test credit card numbers that will simulate different scenarios on the test environment of the payment gateway? (Usually the payment gateway will provide these) 13. Since you mention PHP in the tags, I assume both sites can use PHP. Is this correct? Sorry to bombard you with questions, but your answers will help me establish the effort required for this project.
