I'm currently migrating an old php platform to make orders in a clothing store. The old website must keep working so I'm mixing plain php with some new parts in cakephp 3.0. The old website has very little security, it basically stores the user ID in a browser session variable that gets checked every time a page loads. What I would like to do is use cakePHP features to add a more robust login process and at the same time allow the old pages to keep working, there is no ssl certificate in place. Also I'm providing some xml functions through cakePHP to the website that I would like to secure.
