We have an existing radius application which is PHP and MySQL based with a Web UI. We are looking to develop an API for this existing application, so that we can connect new frontends such as Mobile App and SPAs. The task is simple. Do the same functions what this application does now, but via API by directly interacting with the DB bypassing the application. This API need to be developed using latest Laravel framework and it has to be REST/JSON:API compliant.

Hi, I have developed such endpoints previously. Rather than depend on any PHP framework I will say go with core PHP code. Why core PHP, because you are trying to create a endpoint whoes job is just to work under secure path and server data in ReastFul way. So there is no need to deal with bunch of framework files. Trust me this way your API will be real fast and front end application can manage this things very easily I have exp in front end too in angular, react if you like my view lets discuss more in chat thanks

Employing restful APIs to connect to the front end would not be difficult. I could use any DB of your choosing Relevant Skills and Experience Ability to work with any database and also to be fluent with eloquent models
