Launching PHP, SQL + PhpStorm on a Mac

I developed a prototype web site on WordPress, and realize now that it needs more power, so I want to build it up from scratch using PHP and SQL. Though I'm new with PHP, I can do the coding, but my problem is the initial setup. I have PhpStorm as the IDE, but I'm brand new with it, so I need help setting the basic parameters, installing PHP and SQL on my Mac for local development, and linking to inMotion, my web host - and generally getting me to ground zero, so I can then run with things. Can you help?
