We maintain a list of customers on a Client worksheet
The order entry sheet allows the user to choose a client
enter project desc, PO #, order date, requested date
enter general specifics about the order
material used for drawer sides
material used for drawer bottoms
various construction details
top edge detail (bullnose or flat)
notching/drilling requirements - undermount
The next section is user input on the qty, and dimensions

The above is very basic info - 90% of drawers are 'basic' material used, construction, and qty's and dimensions.
The web based order system will need to do the following.
Allow for 'guests' to choose a certain material - enter basic information and qty's and sizes.
To obtain a price - which they can request as a Quote -- or submit as an order.
Allow for existing clients (our wholesale trade clients) to login with their credentials to create an quote or an order. Also having the ability to create and retrieve stored 'product templates.
For example wholesale customer A - may have three templates that they often order from.
Template name "Oak Ply" created and saved for this particular customer.
Would consist of the following basis values
Side Material: 1/2" Oak Ply
Bottom Material: 1/2" Oak Ply
Bottom Construction : Let in 4
Bottom Recess : 1/2"
Top edge shape : Flat
Top edge corners : Stepdown Amount: 1/8"
Top edge treatment : Edge Banded -- Oak
Notch and Drill for Undermount glides: YES
Install Clips : YES Clips: Blum Std
Finish : Finished after assembly
The above information is a 'template' that contains general information about how they would like their drawers to be constructed.
The next step is to enter the Qty, Width, Height, Depth (description), and some basic 'special' characteristics.
Once this basic functionality is created -- then additional functionality will be added.
Email the quote or order confirmation
Create a new form (window) per line item for 'specialty drawer information.'
(file drawers, ILF (integrated lip fac drawers), drawers with dividers, trash container drawers,
hamper drawers, etc etc, ).
Most of the functionality listed above has been accomplished with our excel sheet - however, we need to allow customers and prospects the ability to generate their own quotes and orders.
