3D Design Furniture Modelling Project and Room Planning Software Suggestions

Project for 3D Designers. We are a commercial company who sell furniture. We currently use traditional methods of room planning with our clients (ie pen and paper.) We are looking to revolutionise our process by introducing tablets or laptops to our sales team who go out on site to room plan with customers. We are firstly looking for a 3D specialist to advise us on appropriate software that non-technical staff can use to produce a basic 2D room plan on screen using dimensions, and then drag and drop assets from a pre-defined library. This file would then be saved and sent back to head office where a more competent 3D designer could use the file to generate renders of the room setting from different angles and apply texture maps and lighting etc. The other part of the project is to produce the full range of 3D models of the furniture range to be used in the asset library of objects mentioned above, into compatible 3D formats to work with the chosen software. We would prefer to work with someone in the North of England, close to Huddersfield/Leeds/Halifax/Bradford/Manchester for face to face meetings rather than freelancers further afield or abroad.
