I am in the starting/planning process of building a model of this ship. I posted about this on a 3d printer forum and someone suggested I ask here. The China was one of three identical sister ships on the Great Lakes. They were the first iron passenger ships on the lakes. Built in the 1880's they were as you can see very ornate Victorian ships. I have never seen a model of these ships despite many years of looking. I bought a scale ship model that has a similar shaped hull and am thinking that I can have someone design and print the various parts I would need use it as the base for a model that can be passed down through my family for generations to come. I do not yet have it in hand so don't know size or scale of it. So I would need 3d printed the whole Cupola wheelhouse with statue on top, the round topped windows with shutters, that kind of thing. I have dozens of old photos of varying resolution to work with. Again, I do not know the scale of the model I purchased. I do not have to go with it if someone here thinks they could do more. Again I am in the planning stage and am open to suggestion.
It is the super-structure above the hull that I am most intereseted in getting a 3d printable model of.
Sorry to confuse. There are three ships - the India, China and Japan. They are identical. The only difference between them is the name and the Statues on top. I'm looking for one ship, one model, one job.
