Hi Karl,
I really sympathise with you as my dad and granddad both got Type 2, and I might too in a few years time.
This is not really a bid, just a way to get a message to you (or have I missed some obvious direct messaging option on this site?).
Clearly you've a smart cookie, with your degrees etc., and you've already invested a lot of thought in this project. You say you're now at the stage of configuring the packet sniffer, so ideally you want someone with experience with the software you're using (RFsmart packet sniffer ?). I don't have that, but I do have experience using other protocol analysers for telecoms (voice call signalling and SMS/text protocols). You may have heard of 'wireshark' too for sniffing Internet messages.
So if you're at a bit of a dead-end with setting up the packet sniffer, and don't get anyone more qualified to bid, I might be able to give some pointers. Capturing some data from the CC Debugger is the current hurdle. But the next bit will be tricky, which is to interpret the 224 bit of data in each transmission (every 5 mins), and get the BG level from that. Reverse engineering!!!
Ok, hope you get some more interest soon,
cheers, Julian
