The time protocol, defined in RFC 868 ([login to view URL])Links to an external site. allows to read the current time on a remote host. Implement this very simple protocol on top of the UDP and TCP sockets. Compare the time required to retrieve this time information over UDP and TCP.

Hello, I read your project brief. I've implemented the RFC868 Time protocol over TCP in Python. If you're interested then message me. I've used NIST Internet time server over TCP on port 37 to get time. NIST is not offering their time service over UDP. If you know of any time service which offer time over both UDP and TCP then I can implement time protocol over UDP as well. Thank you.

Hello! According to tags, you expect RFC868 server to be implement in Python (any restrictions on version?) Do you expect TCP and UDP servers be implemented in same program or as two separate? Could you please elaborate on requirement to compare latency of those two versions. What kind of report is needed? Is testing on my localhost (with test program provided) will suffice, or you need something more sophisticated?
