I have approximately a little over 30 minutes worth of video that needs to be transcribed. I need you to transcribe the video into a written script. This is going to be a video conferencing with a little over 10 people. To be considered as an applicant, you MUST transcribe the sample audio to be considered for the job. Here are the instructions and requirements for this project: 1. Broadband connection required. This video will be uploaded on a password protected website for you to download. So you’ll need a broadband internet connection to download the video. 2. Start Time and Deadline I will ask you to do this as soon as I decide to hire you but I will need it back within 36 hours. Depending on the quality of your work, I may ask you to do more on a weekly basis. 3. Price/Time Limit For this project I am willing to pay $10- $20 (per hour worth of transcription, including freelancer.com fees). If it goes over 30 minutes, I will pay you additional according to our agreed rate for every 5 minutes. The hours you will be charging is NOT the hours you actually worked on completing the transcription but you will be charging the video minutes asked to do. 4. Required quality You may leave out the "um-hums" or trivial comments (but please don’t leave out any clarification questions/comments no matter how trivial it is since I view them important) There are lots of rambling and some comments may not make sense but I want you to try your best to write it down. 5. Format You will create this using MS Word and will indent it just like a movie script so I can easily see it (I’ll send you the format before you start). Also, I need you to put in a time stamp for every 5 minutes. 6. Requirement Since I need to see if you're capable of picking up a Japanese accent, I have attached a sample one minute audio file (the actual one will be done looking at a video) to check whether you can handle Japanese accented English. You MUST transcribe the sample audio to be considered for the job. This will let me see whether you are capable of doing the job and compare with other bidders. As for the sample voice script, please don’t worry about defining who is speaking. Please just do the best you can and transcribe the file as you hear it in a free format. 7. Bidding Please provide an exact dollar amount and the amount of time you will need for this project in your bid. Thank you, Masa

Good day, I am an entry level transcriptionist, an excellent typist, and active listening skills. I use NCH Express Scribe software. My current fee is $0.40 per audio minute. I have plenty of experience from my previous jobs with all around the world English speakers, including Japanese, Chinese, Indians and others, so I'm quite good at understanding it regardless of accent. I will take around 5h to complete this job. I can transcribe the 30 min video whithin 5 hrs duration. I will charge 11$ for the task Relevant Skills and Experience I am fluent in English and proficient in computer. I have 4 years experience of transcribing English lecture recordings. I couldn't find a place to attach the word file I completed ,so I have pasted my work here. Sorry for the inconvenience . The estimated time can increase if the audio quality is poor or bad quality.
