I am an outdoors photographer/videographer whose professional projects include Humana, real estate companies, and retail spaces. My background in the outdoors has helped me learn how to manipulate the camera to adapt to the natural constraints of lighting. I break video projects down into four parts. 1. Understand the audience and purpose of the video. I must have a clear conception of what the video needs to do. 2. Plan the lighting and shots. This is where I discover the limitations and potentials of what can be shown on film; lighting is key to all shots. This step is often concurrent with the first. 3. Capture the footage. Get the planned shots and capture a few more. 4. Edit, edit, edit. For your project I'd like to understand what you want to show and emphasize during the manufacturing process for your product. I also want to scout the facilities to plan shots, lighting, and get an idea for how to edit and what other additional footage would be useful in post-production. After planning the shots, I would come back and get the footage. Pre-production planning will significantly shorten the post-production editing--meaning the turnaround from capturing the footage to you getting the completed project won't be long.
