104231 Spam-proof guestbook

I am trying to eliminate spambots from posting to my new guestbook that I paid for that was supposed to put an end to spam bot postings using verification. Instead, I have much more spam now with my own guestbook than I ever had with my 3rd party guestbook.I've paid someone to require email confirmation prior to posting, however that doesn't stop the bots from posting spam into legitimate entries that are already in the guestbook, and I get a lot of emails of spam postings waiting for my verification. Right now these spam posts are being made even without a link to the guestbook which I removed from my site. Is there not any way at all of preventing these posting from corrupting my guestbook? I've paid two programmers to come up with solutions and the problem persists. I am close to deleting the whole thing and cutting my losses. Please help. Thanks.
