Directory Website for Beverage Distributor Listings

Seeking bids to create a website that would be a directory for beverage distributors. I would like to utilize directory software or service that is already available for use and customization. I see some are a one time fee and others you install on domain and pay a monthly subscription. I am not seeking to have a directory to be built from scratch since I feel there are cost effective solutions already available. I would pay any fee to purchase the directory software which can be lightly customized. I'm seeking a simple directory with a few fields of information for those seeking to list in it along with search and sort feature. The directory would allow beverage distributors to register and provide basic information: name, phone, address and their website address. The distributor would decide what information they would provide and if possible have the ability to login and edit it as needed. Visitors seeking distributors can perform location based search to see which distributor is nearest to them. The directory should have the functionality to charge the distributors to be listed in the directory if it’s decided to do so in the future or the functionality to give them a certain amount of time to be listed to free before they are charged. The ability to collect listings fees should be in place. I have a concern that distributors might be hesitant to join a directory that is “empty” so I was thinking to have a signup up period where only email addresses are collected on the homepage or all the listing information is collected and then imported into the directory once a reasonable amount of listings are reached. I am open to ideas and suggestions on how to approach this if they are easy to implement and expedite without increasing the cost of the project substantially. I can also just launch the directory and attract new listings by offering them a year free. When bidding please provide references to other directories that you have created. I would like to hire someone that is familiar with installing and customizing directories. Provide your opinion on my point regarding collecting distributor information prior to making the directory live and whether that is something to be concerned about. I am open to using Wordpress +plugin or any other solution that makes the project as easy and cost effective a possible. Provide what directory solution(s) you intend to use and why.
