You can house all of the required RDS roles on one server given that you have no plans of making the RDS server externally facing, and you don't have an interest in using RemoteApp deployment. One thing that concerns me slightly is that you mention you've got a Windows 2008 server, but no AD, I am hoping that there may be some slight confusion, especially as you've suggested that there's a group that has been created for RDP access already thus far. Deploying the solution would certainly be easier with Active Directory, but we can chat that through if you're happy with my bid. With regards to your questions: - How much server machines will you need? You should only need one at the moment, though you may want to offer two RDS servers in the future. - How much time will you need to finish the setup? I would suggest somewhere between 6-12 hours depending on availability of AD. Hello, I am currently administering 10+ RDS collections used by 500+ user's in my firm. We are using 20 VMs of server 2016 each can handle 25 users. We use 8core CPU and 64GB memory to accommodate 25 users in session host. I would recommend you to use either 2 session host with 4core CPU and 32gb memory each. It can be either virtual or physical. Virtual is more prefered as it becomes easy to manage, backup or clone in case further expansion is needed.
