Animated GIF in Wordpress slider

We have a front page slider that loads the gif animations - in this case 5 pcs. when the page loads and the displays them one by one with a transition time set to 5 sec. The gif animations are also 5 sec. and set to loop. The problem is that it keeps getting out of sync so that the animation doesn't start and stop exactly when the transition does... it works perfectly with static images like jpg. We think it could be solved if the transition triggers the load of the gif so this is our suggestion for the project, but other solutions / suggestions are welcome. Attached is two of the gif animations as example.
