I have a PSD design of a new wordpress theme for a website, and I want it coded into a custom wordpress theme.
I MUST stress that I want it done the way I want it done, not the way YOU want it done. I have had many times that I give a website to someone to do, and they do it the way they are used to and it wastes time and causes problems. I want it done with foundationpress as the starter theme, and MOBILE FIRST If you are not familiar or comfortable with this theme, or you want to do it with regular CSS instead of SCSS, please do not bid on this.
I am serious...I know I will get a bunch of people who do not read this and put in a bid saying they "have read my requirements and are interested" but you are wasting everyones time, because if you start work on it and you deliver me garbage based on whatever starter theme you are used to working with, I will not pay you one cent, and I will pull the project from you immediately and award it to someone else. Please write in your bid "I understand you want foundationpress and mobile-first coding and I will code the project with foundationpress and SCSS and mobile first" as the first line of your bid. I will only consider bids that have that line.
All that said, the needs for my site are a home page, blog page design, and blog summary page, and a contact page. I have designs for this for mobile, tablet and desktop formats. The headers and footers are the same for each design.
The main thing to note is that I want the design to be optimized to be as small and fast as possible. I want minimal amounts added to the mobile, and then adding more features as it scales up to tablet and desktop versions. I want minimal use of external plugins. In most basic terms, I want it to be small and fast. I will be running it through different performance benchmarks. I would expect the mobile result on pagespeed to be no less than 80.
I also want it to be optimized for SEO. I want microformats and open graph built in to the theme. I do not want those to be external plugins.
I also want error free code if I run it through html and css validators. It should not have errors with css validators because you will be using SCSS to code it properly.
If you can do these things and do them with a reasonable budget, you will be my guy/girl for this type of work. It would be nice to have someone trustworthy to be able to work with. After this project is done, I would want to then work on a real estate website theme, and then possibly a talent agency theme.
