RoadRunner
RoadRunner is a custom made application by Agilent Technologies Ltd(US)
used by Field engineer to process Customer Service Orders. It is a
client/server application with client built in Borland C++ Builder
and server in C/C++/UNIX. The server uses Informix database. The CSOs
are stored in Siebel at backend and connected to RoadRunner
through TIBCO.

and not by it's IP address thus removing dependency of
subnet/IP address scheme The product is used by Intel in
it's manufacturing lab.
* TIBCO Message Broker
It allows you to read data from different sources (File,
Database, Mail Server...), format/change it and write
formatted/changed data into File, Database, send email hence
providing communication among independent applications.

Real life projects
------------------
* Juno (implemented in C++/MySQL on Linux)
JUNO is a database used by BSP Agent [login to view URL](UK) containing
ticketing related information. The process is to load a data file
generated by GDS containing ticketing information to a local database
called JUNO. It initially handled loading of Ticketing information
only but was unable to load Refund information. Modiefied the
source code of the program to handle Refunds. It included, parsing
a file generated by GDS containing refund related information,
fetching the corresponding refund information from the MySQL database,
manipulating data and loading back the result to the database.
* SysAlarm (implemented in C++ on UNIX)
A logging and alarming system which can be integrated with any other
application generating logs. It analyses the log for keywords and sends
alarming signals to the administrator along with the real time log
messages to the SysAlarm Clients running on administrator host not
necessarily the same on which SysAlarm is running.
* Soochak Pranali (implemented in C/Socket and Perl on Linux)
An automated Domain Registration System. Developed network module of
the project which is responsible for automatic registration,
modification, deletion of the domains in the Primary Name Server of
.IN ccTLD.
* Squid/Blocking Module (implemented in C on Linux)
Squid is an Open Source proxy server in UNIX. Its code was modified
to do a content based search on the web pages for certain keywords
and are blocked if keys are found. The blocked websites URLs are
stored in a database so that further requests are blocked immediately
without even fetching the webpages thus increasing efficiency in
bandwidth usage. A safe list of URLs can also be maintained which will
never be blocked. Users can submit the blocked URLs to the
administrator if they have any objections, in this case, the
administrator will review the sites and put them in either block
or safe list after reviewing the sites on his own.
* Soochak (implemented in PHP on UNIX)
A WHOIS server, compliant with RFC 954, serves the Internet community
with details of domain registered under .IN ccTLD
* DumpHosts (implemented in Perl on Linux)
A backup program which can be used to take full and incremental backup
of local as well as remote systems (through NFS). The incremental
backup is taken automatically while full backup has to be taken

Projects during PGDST

* Simulation of File System (implemented in C++ on UNIX)
The File System will be responsible of storing, managing the files
on a virtual disk. It's a multi-user system in which users will have
their own logins. The System will not allow one user to manipulate
the files of another user.
* Text Browser (implemented in C++ on UNIX)
An HTML Browser.
* University Admission Management System (implemented in VB & Oracle on Windows NT)
Simulation of a university's admission management system that takes
care of admission process of students taking admission in different
colleges. Each college will have different streams and courses.
Students are allowed to take admission in any course in any college
depending on their merit ranks.
* Simulation of ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) (implemented in C on UNIX)
This is the protocol that maps the Internet Protocol Address to the
Ethernet address.
