The selected articles will be published in a periodical for an experiential travel business.
The top entries will be considered for upcoming writing assignments of similar nature.

Important pointers:
1. You may choose to write the 3 separate pieces on a single subject or 1 each for each subject.
2. The write ups are ultimately meant to be read by non historians (laypersons) interested in the subject and must be written with the reader in mind.
3. Visual content may be used if required (Images / Old maps / hand drawn sketches etc) which are contextual.
4. Write ups with ancedotal value will be rated higher. We do not want commonly known facts, but fascinating insights into India (related to the subject), presented in a crisp, fun manner.

The prize money is for the top 3 articles (Rs. 1000/- per article). It may go to the same participant or separate individuals.

How is it that someone who has blatantly and outright copy pasted from WIKIPEDIA is a Runner-Up?

  Thanks for pointing it out. We had run the plagiarism test and were aware of this...Thats why the article cannot be used. The prize money because apart from the winner, the runners up was the only contributor to get the tonality of the article right. Perhaps they checked our website..
  After reading your article, I felt that you too had got the requirement...however, the content was not sufficiently focussed for us. Thanks for your effort.

  I get that the decisions rests with the person posting the contest and it's absolutely fine if a deserving entry/submission wins.
  I was simply taken aback, or rather, annoyed that blatant plagiarism is being awarded.

  Hi Darthiya m, Thanks for your article. I can see that you put in a lot of hard work in it. I am no expert, but would suggest that you narrow down on a single topic or even an aspect of the topic rather than going all general and broad. More focus, short, crisp and to the point. For example in your article - you could focus only on Keeladi - covering all aspects of it. Thanks

Need a little clarity. Is it a macro or a micro view you are looking for? General travel anecdotes? Or the experience of travelling to a particular historical site along with some interesting facts about the place? Or have I interpreted the brief completely wrong? :)
