Blueimp Uploader Customization

I have an instance of the Blueimp Upload plugin:

I am working on a custom modal dialog which detects whether a file is a certain type and provides options to Continue or Cancel the upload.

Everything is working nicely, except I would like for the upload to pause when the modal dialog appears - and then resume if Continue is selected. Otherwise the upload can finish before the user has decided whether or not to Continue.

I have looked into the Blueimp documentation and cannot figure out how to pause and resume an upload. I am open to workarounds if actually pausing the upload is not possible, but ideally we could simply add the Pause and Un-pause to my code.

This instance of the uploader only deals with one file at a time. I need someone with experience with this plugin or an advanced javascript coder who can study the documentation and find the solution. Please do not reply if you are not confident in your Blueimp Upload / javascript abilities.

Again, this project is only to pause or un-pause a single upload via JS inside existing JS. Thanks!
