Project Overview
The purpose of this project is to allow the user to use ibeacons to detect when they are close to an item. iBeacons will be attached to large items which can be located anywhere in a city.
When the user (a business user) is close to the item, we need the app to pop-up with an alert letting the user know they are close to the specific item, but only if the API (later) has set the ibeacon to alert when near. We would like to be able to tell the user roughly how far away.
The details of the items should be controllable via an API. Details we would like to control:
Name of Item
Base Location of Item
Serial Number (registration number) of Item
Alert Type (Non-payment, Wanted)
Alert Message (Custom text)
User (the user who added the alert)
It’s important that the app is active always, or at least always polling when the app is open. This is to ensure that the alerts are sent through the moment there is an ibeacon in range.
We would like the app to be built in Swift, however other methods also accepted. Full source code and any supporting materials used must be provided at the end of the project.
Lead time: 1.5 Weeks
Does not include any API work required. We will handle this. To start with we can devise sample JSON file(s) to simulate the API.
