better google maps integration - repost

we have integrated a tiny google map in our site [login to view URL], but we are not google maps experts - i would like, BASED UPON THE EXISTING CODE :

1- replace the + and - with bigger icons, i don't know how to do this (these standard google + and - are too small for tablets and smartphones)

2- when hovering over the current small map (no click) ,

a/ the map to occupy a larger space (in a separate window), like 6 times the actual space

b/ once the map is large, all map functions available (locations selection, zoom (+ -) buttons, ...)

c/ the map can be closed with ESC or a X

3- any other cool idea is welcome
