Native application programming should be in Java using the Eclipse IDE for android devices. Other development environments may be appropriate but will need to be agreed with the module tutor.

You should also use supporting frameworks such as JQuery, JQuery Mobile, JSON or other JavaScript based frameworks to help provide the functionality for your app. Additionally PhoneGap or other web to native development tools can be used.
