I am negotiating the final version of an employment contract (I am the employee) with a Canadian company. I am a US citizen living permanently in Colombia.

I need advice about the best way to get paid (minimizing US tax burden), as well as answers to specific questions.

For someone with the right expertise, I believe this will be more consultation than research-based.

As a former tax/benefits lawyer myself, I am fairly well-versed in the questions to ask, and need precise, verifiable advice along with a final recommendation.

NOTE: You do not need expertise in Colombian tax law/rules. The principal questions here are US-Canada based.
