Project Description:
We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer who can help us with hosting our existing .NET application that uses SQL Server as its backend and interfaces with Azure Functions. The application and the database need to be hosted on a Linux Virtual Machine (VM). Additionally, we require the implementation of a continuous deployment pipeline using Azure DevOps.
Project Scope:
Assessment: Review the current .NET application and SQL Server setup.
Hosting: Set up a Linux VM (the freelancer will suggest the best hosting provider if not already decided) and migrate the .NET application and SQL Server database to this environment.
Configuration: Ensure the .NET application and SQL Server are properly configured and optimized for performance on the Linux platform.
Azure Functions: Verify and configure the integration between the hosted application and Azure Functions.
Azure DevOps Pipeline:
Set up a CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps.
Implement automated build and deployment processes for the application.
Configure the pipeline for continuous deployment to the Linux VM.
Documentation: Provide detailed documentation on the setup, configuration, and deployment process.
Knowledge Transfer: Provide a session to walk through the setup and deployment process with our in-house team.
Deliverables:
A fully functional .NET application and SQL Server hosted on a Linux VM.
A fully implemented CI/CD pipeline in Azure DevOps.
Comprehensive documentation of the setup and configuration.
A walkthrough session with our team.
Skills Required:
Experience with .NET applications and SQL Server.
Proficiency in hosting applications on Linux environments.
Expertise in Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline configurations.
Familiarity with Azure Functions.
Strong understanding of best practices for security and performance in a cloud-hosted environment.
