Slax Linux Developer Needed to install Plymouth

PROJECT: Install Debian Plymouth Bootscreen package onto Slax Linux 9.11.0 and demonstrate it by having it boot to show the splash screen properly.

OVERVIEW: The Slax 9.11.0 (Debian based) Linux LiveCD uses a modular approach for adding packages additional functionality. As such, it is not a simple matter to use the Debian Apt package manager to install the Plymouth Boot Splash screen functionality. It is suspected that the Plymouth, Plymouth-Themes, and Grub specific software would need, and preferred if possible, to be installed in the initramfs image that is located in the "boot" directory of the ISO and booted using Grub2 as that is the first level before the Slax [login to view URL] and other modules are loaded. I have a good amount of development skilles/experience but this project requires specific experience with building LiveCD's on Debian/Ubuntu-based systems but is very specific to Slax Linux.

OBJECTIVES: 1.) Convert the current ISO from SYSLINUX to Grub2 and 2.) Install the Plymouth and Plymouth-Themes Debian packages (deb) such that the ISO will boot up the initial splash screen, then into Plymouth, and into the Xorg Desktop while not showing any bootup messages (i.e. standard standard boot up messages)

DELIVERABLES: A completely booting up Slax 9.11.0 ISO that shows a fully functional Plymouth splash bootscreen as well as complete "step-by-step" configuration and development commands for installing Plymouth (and dependencies) and configuring the ISO from the native state to the modified state with Plymouth installed and fully functional while keeping the initramfs image as small as possible. Basically, you will be taking the current Slax Linux 9.11.0 ISO, and adding the Plymouth (and Plymouth-Themes) DEB packages to the initramfs image such that it will boot up without displaying the normal text boot messages. This is about a complete graphical boot up, much as you might expect and see on a Windows based system, but for Slax Linux.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Developer with specific Slax Linux development as well as building LiveCD's based upon Debian/Ubuntu platforms. Developers with Slax specific development skills/experience will be considered over general developers.

PAYMENT: Will be a FLAT-FEE project at the rate of your bid. A bonus can be received for expedient and efficient work. No advance payments will be given.
