Hi,

I would like to create plugin for Sony Vegas (version [url removed, login to view] and higher).

I render a lot of copies of the same project and I want a way to automate it. However, I change the length by a bit or the background footage each time I render a project.

This is what I need:

A plugin that lets me set rendering on automatic (until I click stop) but it also lets me do 2 things.

#1. It lets me select the clips deemed as "background loops" and then it lets me pick the "cycle back ground loops" from the media manager.

#2. A time extender option. I want it to be able to have it auto extend the last frames of all the tracks by 1ms each.

## Deliverables

What it will do in this case is render the project, replace one of the designated background loops with one from the "cycle background loops" and re-render. Then it will pick the next background loop and replace it with another background loop and so forth.

In effect, its like having it replace the background loops in the project file one by one each time a new round (or set of rounds, see below) of rendering occurs. So first the first background loop would be replace, then next, and then the next etc as I will have a few background loops in each video and it will replace them sequentially then cycle back.

For example: Say I had 3 different back ground footage loops in the movie, and 10 more background loops in the media manger. First it would render using the 3 original background loops. Then, it would replace the first loop (of the 3 in the movie) with a new loop from the 10 in the media manager and render the movie again. Then it would take the next background footage and replace it with one of the (now 9) remaining types in the media manger.

Ask for clarification if this does not make sense. Basically I want it to rotate background footage with a new background loop from my files each time it renders a new project.

#2. A time extender option. I want it to be able to have it auto extend the last frames of all the tracks by 1ms each.

Feature #2 should be used in conjuction with feature #1, as I want a special option with feature #1. I want to be able to set how many times it renders the project before swapping one of the background loops.

For example, say I have 3 background loops in my video and I want to render 3 videos before each swap. This means the program will render a video file once, then have the time extender feature (#2) extend the last frames by 1ms render it again, and then extend it by 1 more ms and render a 3rd time. Having rendered it 3 times it will now replace one background loop with another file and repeat the process (render, extend render, extend render, replace, etc etc).

I will want to be able to easily set time expansion preference, and easily select which files are the background loops and the files that they can be replaced with.

Thanks for reading this, really looking forward to your bids.
