The website is aimed to serve as a marketplace for people to exchange goods online. The website is expected to allow the sellers to list their goods and the buyers to comment on it to show intent of exchange. we suggest using a readymade theme then
customize it to fit the requirements of the project. The suggested technology is Wordpress coupled with custom PHP code in certain modules. Given the scope of this project, we believe that focusing on functionality and pass the design as “Usable” is better than focusing on design and compromising functionality. We came across the Makery Theme and would definatly appreciate your suggestions.
The website design should be responsive to fit the smart phones and tablet PCs.
We will use the following terminology :
- Sellers : will refer to people posting things to be exchanged.
- Buyers : will refer to people interested in exchanging a product posted by a seller.
- Shop : will refer to the section in the website where the sellers post products to
exchange in, it also refers to the section in which the sellers configure and upload their products.
- Items : will refer to items in each user’s closet.

- Users will be able to register using their Emails and/or Facebook.
• Profiling :
- Sellers will be able to edit the following in their profile :

- Address
- Email Address

• Exchange Requests :
- Sellers will be able to view the following information about the exchange requests :
- Order Number
- Date
- Status ( Requested, On Hold, Delivered, Cancelled )
- Product Information
- Buyer Details
- Buyer Address
• Account Settings :
- Seller will be able to turn the notifications on and off.
- Seller will be able to change the notifications email.
- Seller will be able to change his password.
• Manage My Shop :
- Seller will be able to manage his/her shop by managing the following :
- General Shop Description :
- Shop Name
- Shop Category
- Shop Description
- About Me
- Policies
- Items :
- Seller will be able to view all listed items.
- Seller will be able to add items with the following characteristics :
- Name
- Images
- Category
- Tags
- Color
- Attributes
- Description
- Orders :
- Seller will be able to check the exchange orders requested by buyers.
- Seller will be able to turn free shipping on and off.
• Exchange Requests :
- Once a Buyer sends a exchange request, the Seller will be notified by
mail that includes the following data :
- Product Name
- Product Picture
- Buyer’s Name
- Buyers Picture
- Buyers Phone Number
- Buyers Address
- Link to the Buyer’s Shop
• BUYERS :
• Registration and Login :
- Buyers will be able to register either by email or Facebook.
• Viewing/Exchanging Items :
- Buyers will be able to view items right from the home page.
- Buyers will be able to view all item pictures.
- Buyers will be able to see the item’s data specified by the seller.
- Buyers will be able to comment ( Request an Exchange ) on the item in the
following mechanism :
- Buyers will click on the comment button.
- The system will notify the seller through email.
- Once the buyer clicks the comment button, the buyer’s Items will show
in the comments section of the item.
- There will be no text entered by the buyer as per the client request.
Back End ( Administration End of the Web Application )
• All Wordpress Admin Functionality.
