PHP Developer - Update my old framework to work with PHP8

Hello, I have an existing application for a client built with an old framework that is in need of two things:
- Needs to work with PHP8 - warnings need to be fixed (not just hidden).
- Needs to work with the latest version of Smarty. The smarty version being used is pretty old.
The framework used is located here:

It's called TinyMVC. If you were to do the work using the above GitHub project, I could use the work you complete and place it in the client project I have on my own.
Tip: If you add in a log file using code similar to the below, you can see the warnings coming from the app:
error_reporting(E_ALL);
ini_set('display_errors', 'Off');
ini_set('error_log', 'logs/[login to view URL]');
set_exception_handler(function($exception) {
error_log($exception);
});
