We need someone to develop software that will compare a sample photo with all photos in our database, and make a match. Items being photographed are wheels, and we have thousand of wheel pictures, we need to be able to enter a picture into software and have it bring up the matching pictures. Software may need to automatically crop photos so that there will be a reference point to identify from. Samples of database pictures are included in this posting. Pictures that will be taken to compare to will be taken with or without tires and often in very different conditions than the database pictures, so we are not comparing exact pictures. I believe that to successfully complete this project the writer will have to use reference points that are used as comparisons. It should be noted wheels come in different sizes and we CAN enter the diameter of the wheel in the software so that the picture we enter will have a finite value for diameter. We have the diameter value on all wheels in our picture database, and so that could be used as a comparison. It is acceptable for the software to return all possible matches, exact matching is not a requirement, but should be the goal.
Software will need to be cloud based internet platform, we use MySQL databases for our system. We will integrate your work into our existing software, so it doesn't need to be "pretty" just functional.
