Use the Mammoth library (link below) to save ".doc" and ".docx" files as html to mongo. Note that it should convert the document with formatting. For example, a bold title that reads "Test Doc", should be saved as "<strong>Test Doc</strong>". Also save as raw text with no formatting. If interested, contact for more details.
