This posting is strictly for video editing and does not require camera work. I am looking for a proficient freelance editor to edit a series of online videos. This will become an ongoing project once we have established that we communicate well, and that you do quality work and understand the requirements of the project. I am not looking for slick and polished videos. I don't need high production values. It doesn't matter if the videos look self-produced. But sound quality, basic editing, good transitions and good cuts are important.
BACKGROUND:
Video footage consists of actual one-on-one client sessions (taped with clients' written permission). Videos have been shot with a tripod. A few were shot with an HD Flip camera, most of them with a Kodak Zi8. Some were shot at too low a volume. I want to know if there is a way you can enhance the sound of the finished product without compromising picture quality.
INITIAL PROJECT:
This initial project consists of cut/copy and paste editing a 40-minute in-session video into 2 basic "how-to" training videos (19 minutes and 13 minutes long) and 3 online videos (approx 2 – 3 minutes long) which will appear on my website, blog, YouTube and Facebook. I will upload to YouTube because I will want to enter the tags and descriptions myself. I will provide clear guidelines as to where cuts and transitions should occur. I will also provide links to three short videos my partner and I edited ourselves. (Not a good use of our time, which is one of the reasons I am looking for someone like you.)
TOTAL PROJECT:
Video-editing 9 or 10 one-hour videos (similar to the Initial Project outlined above) in preparation for the launch of my new website.
ONGOING PROJECT:
This will become an ongoing contract as I make more videos.
PROPOSED TIMELINE:
a. Posting Date: January 26, 2011
b. Proposals received by January 29, 2011
b. Winning bidder notified by January 30, 2011
c. Deadline for completing initial assignment: February 1, 2011
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
a. You are familiar with the concept of video for on-line marketing and branding.
b. You have the software tools to enhance the sound quality.
c. You have a portfolio to show.

a. Quotes in USD please.
b. Please respond to this posting only if you can easily meet all the above specifications and can start on the project without delay. I want to be able to communicate directly with the person who is doing the work. So you must be willing to interact with me directly via Skype and/or email.
Please answer these questions in your response:
a. Is it possible to improve sound quality if mics were not set high enough in the first place?
b. In one of my videos (not included above) I forgot to turn on the mics, is there any way to retrieve sound when that happens?
c. How quickly can you turn the job around?
