Image Pattern Analysis in Visual Basic

The two (original) pictures were taken from two cameras in sync. @ 3 inch apart.

As you probably know that the picture-sets need further alignment and rotation

(crop in short) for optimized overlap.

Currently, I'm using manual process to adjust alignment/rotation.

Would it be possible to detect their (original) displacement (x,y) and rotation

angle automatically. Thanks.
