**Database Administrator / Developer**
Hired into Business Intelligence group to manage, maintain, run, and update the processes used to gather weekly, monthly, and yearly data from the Corp Data Warehouse in NJ. The data included Volume and Revenue, Account Executives, customers, earnings, and Customer Behavior and Values for the UPS Freight and Small Package Divisions. Processes are all written in DTS or SSIS and integrated with FTP that is executed with a secure FTP program from Van Dyke software. (I did the Proof of Concept, testing, and installation of the Secure FTP program on all applicable SQL Server nodes. SQL databases were in versions 2000, 2005, and 2008.
Also assigned the task of re-engineering a process for gathering data about ocean shipments. The original process ran against 7 databases on 3 different physical servers including the production server. This was killing performance on production when the process was running. I re-engineered the process to run on a single process server in a single database. This involved moving and recoding the stored procedures from all 7 separate databases to run in a single DB environment and then pushing the data via secure FTP to the production server during non-peak production hours. This cut the processing time to a 3rd of what it was originally in system testing.
Other duties included, but were not limited to troubleshooting and problem solving for process errors and data inconsistency errors that occurred in either the DW processes or the ETL processes that gathered data from the DW.
