This NGO was a different experience when it comes to volunteering for. The idea of self initiative and “impulse for change” was the motto that the organization followed. After several meetings with the board members, sponsors and volunteers, I planned a walkathon in the city to promote the central idea of the NGO itself with 300 members. Also during my time I spend researching the collaboration prospects of the NGO with a social media enterprise as a research analyst.

I got involved in various projects. I started exploring the conditions the exploited farmers in the remote districts of the country. I joined in the survey done in the village, where I got a different kind of exposure. After getting back, I decided to initiate projects that can actually contribute in helping their condition. The very first was when I took part in the micro loans provision system organized by the NGO to help the poor farmers, for which I planned something different. I decided to approach the INGOs located in the capital. I got involved in two more programs which included Rural Development to uplift the standard of living in few villages and to create employment opportunities and reduce the labor migration from the district. Possibly the most important project that I took up was to promote the idea of self initiative in rural areas. In these two years I learnt that everyone has the potential to solve their own problems; what they lack is the motivation to bring that change. Thus, this project was launched in seven districts with the help of an INGO promoting the idea and knowledge about sustainable living and the importance of education.

I interned in an NGO dedicated for the welfare of mental health under the supervision of a senior psychologist. Prior to the internship I read a couple of books regarding human psychology which my supervisor recommended. During the course of the internship I got to sit and record the sessions, note down points and then research about it. The next day I used to approach my supervisor with all the conclusions that I made and received his feedback. t.
