Professional Editor wanted to copy edit a series of books

Hello everyone. I hope this finds you well.

I am looking for an editor who has demonstrated knowledge and experience editing Historical Fiction.

I am 45 years of age and from Melbourne, Austraila. I worked in a child abuse unit in conjunction with the police for 20 years with my career being ended by a serious assualt that occurred while carrying out my duties, leaving me with PTSD, anxiety and depression, which is managed well.

I started writing on the 12th December 2015 having never written anything other than court reports, nor did I ever have a burning desire to write. I am looking to have my first series of The Golden Glow Chronicles edited to the same standard that Random house would. I was offerred and rejected two publishing contracts for this series as I have taken a self publishing course and weighed up all my options, finding that having control of the project was the most important thing to me as I want to choose my covers and my editor, not allow them to and only give me 20% of the earnings for the pleasure.

There are five books of 200k words each in the first series along with two spin off books that are 140k words. I am willing to pay up to $4000 each book, lower for the two spin offs due to word count. What I believe will spark your interest in working with me is that I have completed the second series of five books being 160k words each and am currently writing the third series which is a prequel that consists of 6 books of 200k words. I have also completed the first two books in the forth series, so this is ongoing work for you if we fit.

The first series starts in 1890-1968. It starts in Scotland but quickly moves to Australia where the main character Abigail, settles in Geelong. The books are about a young girl who has grown up in an orphange and finds when she turns 15 that she has blood family. She has the ability to see auras around certain people she meets however does not understand what they mean and that they have lived before with her in another life cycle. The books are historically accurate and go through the first Great War along with the depression and second world war. I have had the books on wattpad unedited up until recently gaining many followers for the series. Historical fiction with a paranormal twist they tell me it is. They are about reincarnation, soul circles and how people are connected from one life through to the next.

Before you think about submitting for this project there are a few things i would like to ask you.

*What type of editing have you done in the past and what did you charge? A flat rate per word, an hourly rate or by the project?

*Why are you interested in working on my books?

Please answer these questions for me as I won't be taking the people that dont seriously. I really would like an editor that will respect and 'get' my voice and be able to communicate openly and honestly with me. There are ten ways to say something and I am hoping you have the quality to retain my voice while turning my manuscript into a beautifully flowing book, using words I have never thought of in places. I want to make this as easy as possible for both of us and there must be compatibility/chemistry from the start. Once I have narrowed down the applicants I will be in touch to chat further about the project and request a sample edit from the top three editors. I will then make a decision and let you know either way. I am an honest and open person and like to treat people as I like to be treated as this will be a process for both of us!
