## BIO SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Hard Skills: Java 1.4, C/C++, Embedded C, CLIPS, OpenGL 1.4, MIPS Assembly Language, UML, VHDL, Unix scripting; ALTERA development board, MSP430F processor; Eclipse IDE, Altera Quartus II, ModelSim, Cross Studio, AC3D 6. Human computer interaction and user interface design; Neural networks & Bayes nets, search methods, machine & reinforcement learning (supervised and unsupervised); Microprocessors and micro architectures (single and multi core), embedded hardware development; Creating user specifications from discussions with user, coding, testing, debugging, and some optimization. • Soft Skills: Buyer behavior, marketing principles and strategies; Project management, relationship management; Financial markets (including technology), financial analysis; Business case analysis and development; Research and quantitative analysis, and creative thinking and problem solving. • Qualifications: Canadian Securities Course (May 2010), Trader Training Course (January 2011). WORK EXPERIENCE National Bank of Canada, Business Analyst September 2009 – Present • Primarily responsible for back end, ticketing, and mid office trade processing applications (AllocationWare, Iress ATR Select, ETA) and acted as application lead and sole point of contact for those applications. • Responsible for driving delivery of applications, which involved: analysis, documentation, testing, deployment, and post deployment support, communicating with clients (traders), management, and IT teams. • Responsible for creating and maintaining portfolio of NBF applications, and their usage, user lists, line of business, contacts, and architecture. • Worked on telephony and meeting room aspects of Trade Floor Relocation Project; responsibilities included documentation, coordinating setup, installations and testing of: audio and video equipment in meeting rooms, and printers, faxes and phone turrets for the new trade floor. • Chaired weekly status meeting for my subgroup. Trader Support April 2009 – September 2009 • Provided tier 1 support and escalation to traders experiencing problems with their trading applications (IRESS, Belzberg, AllocationWare, Raptor, ETA/PnL). Merrill Lynch Canada, Senior Specialist July 2008 – January 2009 • Project managed the launch of an analytics tool (MarketColor), creating the idea of the project, convincing management of its use, managing schedules, and leading the project into the planning stage. • Tested and developed automated procedures for analytics products MarketColor and MyMarketColor. Maintained and upgraded the QA environment and provided up-to-date documentation on this suite. Automated several testing procedures using UNIX scripts. VMC Game Labs, Game Tester and Support May 2007 – August 2007 • Tested new games and gaming technologies for Nintendo Wii, Playstation Portable, and Playstation 3. • Performed regression testing, tested user tasks, ad hoc debugging, and ensured balance and compatibility across builds. Infolytica/McGill University, Research Assistant May 2006 – December 2006 • Team lead in developing an expert advising system for MagNet. Determined project feasibility, conceived proposal, secured approval and executed with another team member in developing, testing, and presenting a prototype to the Infolytica team, leading to an A in the course. • Designed in CLIPS, Java, and VBScript. Prototype analyzed problems using the MagNet database and offered solutions using a Q&A session and would dynamically update itself allowing it to learn from past experiences. The system was embedded into the help section of the MagNet website. OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCE PROJECT MANAGEMENT/PLANNING • Team leader for the Brain sub team, on the McGill Space Elevator Team. Explored technologies and chose one, worked with team to design the controller, organized schedules, implemented and tested a final working prototype to be entered into a competition. RESEARCH • Built Archimedes, an intelligent player through extensive research on optimal network structures, layers, and units, heuristics, machine learning strategies, and depth level for the Mini-Max algorithm to allow the player to make the smartest decisions in fewer than 4 minutes. In a competition, the player ranked 5th out of 22. • Designed, implemented and tested a Quad-Core DLX processor. Researched quad-core and hyper-threading technologies, the pros and cons of varying shared memories and caches, and determined the optimal number of each to satisfy speedup and efficiency constraints. SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT & TESTING • Designed Pre-Mortem, a game to work with Wiimotes and Nunchuks. Project involved gesture recognition, animation, collision detection and physics. All graphics and models were created with OpenGL and AC3D, emulation performed with Glove PIE 0.29, and coded in C++. • Built Archimedes, a smart player in Java to compete against other players. It used the Mini-Max algorithm to prune the decision tree, then evaluate and make decisions using a three layer neural network. In a competition the player ranked 5th out of 22. HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT • Designed a climber controller in embedded C for the McGill Space Elevator Team. Chose an appropriate chip for development, designed the system to work with other components of the climber and the constraints they presented, distribute assignments to team members, and write and test the code with the team. The Brain was developed, tested and stored on an MSP430F chip. • Implemented a controller for a Quad-Core DLX processor to dynamically optimize usage of shared resources, enable hyper-threading, perform basic code optimizations, and deal with hazards. Also built a 5-stage pipelined DLX processor in VHDL. VOLUNTEER & PROJECT EXPERIENCE Merrill Lynch Social Committee, Member September 2008 – January 2009 McGill Space Elevator Team, Team Lead January – May 2008 Pre-Mortem (McGill), Team Lead January – April 2007 Student Fitness Program, Co-Founder January – August 2007 Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference, Participant January 2007 Archimedes (McGill), Inventor September – December 2007 MagNet Expert System, Team Lead May – December 2006 Quad-Core DLX Processor (McGill), Group Member September – December 2006 McGill Student Buddy Program, Participant Summer ‘03, ’04, ’05, 2006 EDUCATION Canadian Securities Course, CSI Global Education Inc May 2010 Project Management e-Course, George Washington University & ESI International November 2008 Bachelor of Engineering, McGill University, Montreal, QC May 2008 Major – Computer Engineering Minor – Business Manageme ## Area of Expertise Java, C, C++, Embedded C, Assembly Language, SML, Eclipse, Perl.
