General Information This is part of a final Project culminates in a 1000-1500 word essay. This is on women’s writing, so you must engage with texts from Jane Eyre by Bronte, Charlotte , Oxford , 2003, A Room of One's Own by Woolf, Virginia , Oxford, Swann by Shields, Carol , Toronto: Vintage Canada , 1996, Wide Sargasso Sea by Rhys, Jean , Penguin , 2000 The Magic Toyshop by Carter, Angela , Penguin , 2003 and issues around gender and literature must be the focus. First section: 500 word draft of the final Project You will post a brief draft response to a reading, in this case The Magic Toyshop by Carter, Angela , Penguin , 2003. The response will consist of a personal reflection and interpretation of the text, and somewhat expanded on other readings indicated above. The draft response should be longer than a 500-word maximum Answer these questions or in the broaded topic cover these questions : Is Aunt Margaret's silence results of her oppression or resistance? How is Melanie takes part in the concept of sexuality, identity, violation, and femininity? In this papaer: Writer has exhibited thorough understanding of the topics discussed and the arguments of the sources used. •Writer has created convincing arguments and supported them with appropriate quotations/paraphrases from source material. •The essay as a whole is unified (each point is relevant and relates back to the main claim or thesis) and coherent (each point develops logically from the previous point ). •Writer shows a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply the conventions of academic language and writing conventions, including MLA style. •Surface level errors are minimal to none.
