I have 9 of 15 chapters (MS Word) for a Fiction Novel that need editing. The target audience is junior high school/middle school (10-15 years old). The chapters are 28,000 words to this point. I am not looking for copy editing (even though it needs it). I am looking for developmental editing. For instance, whenever possible, the text should show and not tell. Especially important are sections that could be replaced with description rather than dialog or narrative. These sections should be rewritten. These will be short 1, 2, or 3 sentence rewrites. I also need to make sure that inconsistencies and awkwardness is fixed. Chapters sent upon worker acceptance.
