What approach would you recommend? i will propose TRAIC based dimmer concept to convert AC to DC and step down to 12V DC. Which is simple and cost effective solution. Proposal: Hi, I am a post graduate power electronics engineer and having very good industrial experience of 8+ years in R&D and project development. I am excellent welding power supplies design, high frequency transformers design, circuits design, multi-channel LED Drivers, Regulated power supplies design with universal input to DC output, Audio amplifier, drives design, Filters design for harmonic analysis and Power factor correction, SMPS, LED drivers, DC-DC, AC-DC converters design, PFC interleaved boost converter, Battery management system, Battery chargers, UPS design, sine wave Inverters, solar grid tie inverters, Solar battery chargers and street light systems design from few watts to KW range using Buck, Boost, and Buck –boost, Interleaved boost/buck, Fly back Push Pull and H-bridge inverters. I have very good experience to design high voltage power supplies up to 50KV for capacitor charging power supplies using soft switching topologies. I have work experience to design from few watts to KW range meeting all compliances like EMI/EMC and safety standards UL etc.

What approach would you recommend? This will be my approach: I will step down the AC input into half for instance using a step down AC transformer. Then I rectify it and finally use a flyback converter that can take 30V-800Vdc like LM5022MM controller. Thank you. Proposal: I have the experienced in power supply design for more than 10 years. There might be a number of ways to reach this goal. I would like to discus with you, if possible, that I can have more information on the environment the module is going to be used as well as more explanation on the size as you have shown to be of a concern. I would also wanted to know if you need only the design or a complete module manufactured.
