Create Brand Level Script That Displays Popular Products - BigCommerce

I would like to display popular products within an image slider (Pika Choose). We already have this installed but we currently add the product image, alt, URL to the corresponding product page and title + price manually. I'd like to generate this content automatically and update it every 72 hours. I believe the easiest way to gather the information required would be via the Google Analytics API. Six products need to be displayed in total per product slider. The goal would be that once the first is successfully set up, we can output the script for the other sliders. In which case, some sort of admin panel would be preferable. The store in question is on BigCommerce which also has an API for accessing brands and so on. You should have experience with BigCommerce. While I have suggested a solution for how to accomplish what we'd like, I am completely open to suggestions on how better to handle this project. BigCommerce has RSS feed output so that could be an option perhaps.
