Create Packaging (Box) for one of our souvenir items

Looking for new packaging box for one of our souvenir articles. It is a small picture used as a wall decoration, mainly sold as a souvenir. It is made with wood as a base which is covered by a layer of natural sand. The item is made out of two parts (please see as well attached pictures for your reference). A base frame and the actual frame on which the artwork is printed. The base frame is 13cm x 13cm and the artwork frame is 11cm x 11cm. As you will see on the pictures we already have a box in which we present our Mini Art product to our customers. Why are we looking to change this box we have? a) One of the main reasons is that in the box we have at the moment our customers can’t see that the item is made of two parts. The base frame and the artwork frame. However the base frame is obviously a very important part of the item. Not only is it part of the item but it comes in different colour finishings. b) Our product is very unique and we have observed customers in the shops that where interested in the item but did not understand what it is for. Once more, it seems that our actual box is confusing to some of our customers. c) The box is quiet complicated to make for our manufacturer which makes it expensive. On the other side it is also very time consuming for our staff to prepare the box and pack the Mini Art into it. We receive it folded flat so we have to first unfold it and remake all the corners. There is a natural string hanger on the top of the box which has its fixation inside the box making it sometimes difficult to slide the Mini Art into the box as the base frame gets tangled / blocked by the fixation of the string inside. The new box design should ideally fix all the before mentioned short comings. - The customer should be able to see the whole item - The new box should be easier to fabricate and easier and faster to handle for our staff - We have a natural product so the new box must reflect that - Some of our customers use a hanging display to showcase the product so there must be some sort of hanger. Ideally this hanger can be stored away for customers who display the product on tables At this point we only looking for a new box. We do NOT need a design that later will get printed on that box.
