Hi, I'm looking to have a logo designed for an african tribe who want to set up a website promoting walking tours of their lands. The tribe are called Masai [login to view URL] - and are based in northern Tanzania / serengeti / southern Kenya, masai mara Google “masai art” to give a sense of the art surrounding their culture Look up “Safari” – (which is the Swahili word “to Travel” or “to go on a journey” to get a sense of the types of earthy logos that are used by other companies that bring tourists around east africa The company name that has been set up is called “Ngomata Maasai Trekking Adventure Ltd”, This is a mouthful, and so a trading name Ngomata Trekking Ltd will be used. The logo needs to incorporate the following 1 It needs to in some way represent their culture, whether through mimicking some piece of jewellery / clothing / living implements / physical being / landscape they live in 2 It needs to reflect the nomadic nature of the people, and that by trekking with the masai, you are taking part in their culture 3 It needs to be a piece of art in its self, so that it can be embroidered onto fabrics and clothing, possibly even with the wording missing if it is separate to the logo emblem 4 It needs to imply original, earthy, traditional, historical values
