We need someone with javascript html5 development experience to develop a Point of Sale (POS) web application. We have a propietary backend platform and most of the backend is already developed. The POS will communicate with the backend using REST API calls. The point of sale needs to be developed as a Google Chrome offline app. It needs to keep working even if the Internet connection is lost and once the Internet connection is back all the pending operations need to be synced to the backend. The POS will work in two modes, both modes should be responsive and work across tablets, smartphones and computers: Retail - Optimized for keyboard/mouse input Restaurant - Optimized for touchscreen input The POS app needs to be localizable. The language will be set in the backend and the POS needs to sync and display the selected language. The POS will have 3 main areas that will adapt according to the user settings which will be synced with the backend. Operation - Categories - Products - Modifiers - Orders - Payments Administrative Tasks - Cash out - Deposit money - Withdraw money - Return merchandise - Start shift - Authorize operation Inventory Management - Show current inventory - Receive merchandise from supplier - Return merchandise to supplier

If you are looking to develop a web based POS system, you first need to make sure if your device supports print from web. Because not all POS devices support printing from web. You need to check this first and foremost. Can you please send me over the model of your device?

Hello, We had delivered keyboard/mouse/barcode scanner enabled retail POS system with ALL features given by you plus many more. It is being used by 250+ wine retailers in Delaware, USA to handle 10000+ SKUs grouped in categories etc. We had also delivered touch screen enabled POS systems for restaurants – Café and Fine Dine. The wine and restaurant POS systems were separate. In case your requirement is to develop a unified POS, we could perhaps look at it. Our architecture has transactional POS deployed on windows desktop with a web server based back end for administrative functions including very extensive reports. Web server s/w was written in ASP.net/SQL Server and desktop s/w in C#/MS-Access with seamless data synch between the two platforms and ALL users. If you start a dialogue, we can share more details of our s/w and what we can do for you. I have given a place holder bid currently.
